About the POFMA Office

The POFMA Office, situated within the Infocomm Media Development Authority, is responsible for the administration of the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act (POFMA).

This is part of the wider Whole-of-Government effort to address online falsehoods that affect the public interest.

Functions of the POFMA Office

The POFMA Office:

• Issues Directions/Notices upon the instruction of Ministers; monitors and enforces compliance with the Directions/Notices
• Administers the Codes of Practice (CoPs) issued under POFMA; monitors and enforces compliance with the CoPs
